If you do not want the riven look of sandstone but want a flatter, more smooth finish then limestone is a good choice. Limestone has a surface finish similar to orange peel. The black colour is stunning, consistent in colour and deep black when wet. The deep black colour when freshly quarried does eventually fade in natural sunlight to a charcoal grey, but will always return to jet black when wet. A sealer will help maintain this colour. This natural stone paving has been imported directly from India. A mixed patio pack consists of the following sizes:- 13 No. 900 x 600mm
- 13 No. 600 x 600mm
- 13 No. 600 x 290mm
- 9 No. 290 x 290mm
The slabs are hand cut for authenticity. This allows for joint widths of 10-15mm.
WARNING: This is not the economy paving that many other online retailers are selling. Their packs are 18sq m and maximum 20mm thick, this makes the slabs vulnerable to cracking and splitting especially when subjected to frost and ground movement due to inclement weather conditions. This type of thin paving is recomended for indoor use as a tile and laid on a solid concrete floor with special adhesives that are designed to accomodate expansion and contraction. The Hardstone Limestone range is 25 - 35mm thick, sometimes there may be a small amount outside of this range. |
